We will be performing scheduled operating system upgrades across several resolvers.
The maintenance window is:
Friday, December 5th — 09:00–13:00 UTC
Most resolvers will undergo in-place upgrades without any IP address or key changes. Some locations will see replacements, IP changes, or decommissioning — details are below.
Resolvers Upgraded Without IP Changes
The following resolvers will be upgraded in place.
No configuration changes are required.
- Munich
- Valdivia
- Chicago
- Durham
- Philadelphia
- Tallinn
- Wien
- Johannesburg
- Chișinău
- Sofia
- Düsseldorf (dus01)
Resolvers With IP Changes
Two resolvers will receive updated IP addresses:
- Düsseldorf (dus02) – IPv4 address will change
- Jakarta (jkt01) – IPv6 address will change
Please update your configurations accordingly once the new IPs are published.
Resolvers Being Replaced (IP Change Required)
These resolvers will be migrated to new infrastructure.
New IP addresses will be announced after deployment.
Resolvers Being Decommissioned
Fremont → Replaced by San Jose
The Fremont resolver will be retired and replaced by a new resolver in the nearby San Jose area. Update your configuration to Fremont 02 or the new San Jose resolver when it becomes available.
Minneapolis – Decommissioned on Dec 22, No Direct Replacement
The Minneapolis resolver will be permanently removed on December 22.
No direct regional replacement is planned since I haven't been able to find a suitable provider in that area.
Recommended Alternatives
Further updates, including new IP addresses, will be published upon deployment.
